I’m living in Riyadh, working as a Senior Instructor in a new G2G project (Japan vs Saudi) Higher Learning Institute.

The Institute is scheduled to be inaugurated in this coming September.

Thats for my job background. Today I want to share my feelings living in this new world to me. I call this land, land of black and white. Men wear white and women wear black. The land is reddish brown (near beige) and so as the building. You will hardly see a woman because this is a man’s world. All the workers in any shops, grocery stores, restaurants, hotel, street vendors are man (even a lady’s dress shop is operated by man).

In Riyadh more foreigners living here than local people. I think one Saudi to 4 foreigners. Taxi drivers usually are Pakistani, Bangladeshi or Indians (a few from Afghan, Yemen and Saudi itself). Indians is the largest foreigner living in Riyadh followed by Pakistani, Bangladeshi and Kabayan (Filipino). Nurses are normally Filipinos.

Weather is hot and dry here. In the day, it can reach 50degree in August. You don’t have to go to sauna here, coz everywhere is a sauna.

As a Malaysian, I’m very proud to carry my country name. Everyone here shows a kind of respect whenever I mentioned that I’m from Malaysia. The next thing will come out from their mouth is Mr.Mahathir. All Saudis,Pakistanis,Bangladeshi,Indians and many from 3rd world countries know Mahathir very well and infact they love him. You see our beloved Mr.Mahathir has created a very good name to the world. So I consider him as a living legend.
